Woven by the Daraghuyan Bukidnon community in Mindanao, the Pinangabol is an ancestral abaca weave once crafted for protection. Each piece is created on a vertical loom, with abaca fibers dyed in both natural and commercial pigments—its hues carrying centuries of ritual and meaning. The Kalandrakas motif, with its lively, scratch-like strokes, reflects the earth’s own markings.
